Blanchet Catholic School

OVERVIEW


Blanchet Catholic School is a private, independent, college preparatory middle and high school serving Mid Valley students in grades 6-12. Academic excellence, a strong community, and opportunities for success in all aspects of student life are the cornerstones of a Blanchet Catholic education.  The faculty and staff work tirelessly to mentor, challenge, and support students with a rigorous curriculum and a strong co-curricular program in the areas of service, campus ministry, performing arts, clubs and athletics.  Blanchet Catholic School strives to educate the whole student and prepare them for life beyond the walls of our school. Sixty percent of Blanchet students are Catholic. Ninety-eight percent of Blanchet graduates attend colleges and universities. The school is accredited through the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, and the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, through Cognia. The school is a member of the National Catholic Education Association. Blanchet students have a tradition of academic excellence since 1998, thirty-four students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship organization.

C.S. Lewis Academy

OVERVIEW


C.S. Lewis Academy (CSLA) is a non-profit, private, co-educational K-12th Grade school, established in 1985. CSLA is registered with the State of Oregon as a recognized and accredited private school. It is accredited by AdvancEd, the national accreditation commission that represents 32, 000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 71 countries worldwide. The school is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. CSLA is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI). Other memberships include the Oregon Schools Activities Association (OSAA), the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce; and it is certified as a “Green School.”

Central Catholic High School

OVERVIEW


Central Catholic High School is a college preparatory school committed to educating students from diverse backgrounds in a Catholic community. Central Catholic offers 13 advanced placement courses, and 15 honors courses. Through the P.C.C. Dual Credit Program, students are given the chance to earn college credits while meeting the requirements to graduate at Central Catholic. With performing and fine arts classes in drama, music, visual art, ceramics, stained glass, and photography, students are encouraged to find their creative outlet. While instilling a sense of fair play, sportsmanship, and a commitment to excellence in student athletes, Central Catholic’s athletic programs have claimed 38 championships and 32 second place finishes in state competitions. Students interested in graphic design and journalism are given the opportunity to join the staff of the Rampart, our school newspaper, the Scepter, our yearbook. Finally, with more than 35 clubs, from the Japan Club to the Multi-Cultural Club, there is something for everyone at Central Catholic.

Regis St. Mary High School

Regis St. Mary Catholic School is a welcoming community where faith enhances academic excellence as they prepare students to become servant leaders in their families, schools, churches, and communities. Regis St. Mary Catholic School was founded in 1963 as part of the Archdiocese of Portland Catholic school system, which has built a reputation on academic excellence, carried opportunities for student recognition, a high level of student participation in athletics and co-curricular activities, outstanding community and family support, strong staff unity and communication, and a deep faith. Regis St. Mary Catholic School enjoys an excellent reputation throughout the state in academics, service, athletics, and extra-curricular activities. As the state’s only “rural” Catholic high school, it reflects the values of a committed and caring community. In a recent survey, parents indicated the top three reasons they chose Regis, which were faithbased education, small and caring community, and rigorous academic curriculum.

St. Mary's Academy

Western Christian School

OVERVIEW


Western Christian School, grades PreK-12, is dedicated to quality education and the spiritual nurture of their students. This Top 30 Christian School provides a real sense of community and family. Excellent teachers and staff give of themselves to help students realize their potential spiritually, academically, and socially. Small group meetings, weekly chapels, and low student/teacher ratios develop personal, mentoring relationships between faculty and students. Western Christian School was established in 1945 on a beautiful 45-acre wooded campus located 10 miles northwest of Salem in the Willamette Valley. Western Christian, accredited through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, offers an excellent academic program within a strong community of faith. Willamette Valley Christian School

Willamette Valley Christian School is a private Christian school located in Brooks, Oregon. It is near Salem and serves mid-valley youth in grades P-12. The school exists to provide the spiritual, as well as the mental, physical, and social growth of their youth. As a Christian school, Willamette Valley Christian School has a specific philosophy of education which is rooted in its Articles of Faith. The curriculum has been designed to provide excellent academic training for the students as well as a solid Christian foundation upon which to build a life. Various textbooks are used which incorporate the school’s faith-based academic philosophy. Classes are kept small to provide greater opportunities for learning and individual attention. The objectives are to promote self-discipline within the student by training the student to be consistent and responsible in attitude, character, and actions.

The Ambrose School

OVERVIEW


The Ambrose School is a private, classical Christian school established in 1995 The Ambrose School seeks to educate the whole student by fostering virtue and mature character, sound reason and sound faith, a masterful command of language, well-rounded competence, literacy with a broad exposure to books, and an established aesthetic. Ambrose students gain a strong foundation in the humanities, mathematics, the natural sciences, and world languages; additionally, students take four years of performing or applied arts, including theater, choir, orchestra, art, and broadcast media. Our teachers engage students in Socratic discussions of great works of history, literature, poetry, art, music, and science. Students study over 115 original works including the Iliad and the Odyssey, Antigone and Oedipus Rex, the Bible, Divine Comedy, the Koran, Beowulf, Hamlet, Paradise Lost, Pride and Prejudice, the Communist Manifesto, and Origin of Species.
