FAQ

  • The American Education and Exchange Association (AEEA) connects international students with well-reputed private schools across the U.S. Our goal is to make sure students have a positive and successful high school experience in America. We work closely with international agents, students, and families to make the process as smooth as possible.

  • AEEA partners with a variety of private schools throughout the U.S., including schools in Oregon and Idaho. Our schools are chosen for their strong academic programs, caring staff, and vibrant communities. Whether students are looking for a faith-based school or a more academically focused environment, we work hard to find the right fit for each individual.

  • Students live with carefully selected host families who provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming home environment. We take the time to match students with families who will make them feel comfortable, ensuring the student has a positive experience both in school and at home.

  • AEEA goes beyond just placing students in schools. We provide personalized academic tutoring, on-demand coaching, and social-emotional support to help students excel not just academically but also personally. Each student is assigned a Liaison who regularly checks in, ensuring that they’re adjusting well and receiving the help they need. It’s our comprehensive, student-centered approach that makes us different.

  • Each student has a dedicated Liaison who is there to support them every step of the way. Whether it’s helping with academics, navigating cultural differences, or offering personal support, our Liaisons ensure students feel comfortable and confident during their time in the U.S. We also offer tutoring and personal coaching to help students stay on top of their schoolwork and personal development.

  • After arriving, students are greeted by their host family or an AEEA staff member. Once settled, they attend an orientation at their new school to meet teachers and staff. During this time, students can adjust their class schedules with the help of their Liaison or school principal. If extra academic or language support is needed, tutoring is available.

  • We provide personalized English language support tailored to the student’s needs. This includes on-demand tutoring and coaching to help students improve their conversational and academic English skills, ensuring they have the confidence and proficiency to succeed in the classroom.

  • Applying is simple. Visit our How to Apply page for detailed steps on how to start the process. We’re here to guide students and parents through every stage, and we look forward to helping you begin your journey toward studying in the U.S.

  • We offer personalized tutoring, academic coaching, and comprehensive test preparation to ensure students have all the tools they need to succeed in their studies. Whether a student needs help with coursework or is preparing for standardized tests like the SAT, we’ve got it covered.

  • While students don’t choose their specific host family, we work hard to match each student with a family that fits their personality and needs. We take great care in the selection process to ensure that every student feels comfortable and supported in their new home.

  • Students will need an F-1 student visa to attend a U.S. high school. AEEA provides all the necessary documentation, including the I-20 form, to help students apply for their visa.

  • Absolutely! Parents are welcome to visit their child while they are studying in the U.S. We encourage parents to coordinate visits with the host family and school to ensure it fits into the student’s schedule.

  • We understand that adjusting to life in a new country can be challenging. That’s why we provide ongoing support through our Liaisons and host families. If a student is struggling to adapt, we offer additional resources such as personal coaching to help them feel more at ease.

  • Student safety is our top priority. We carefully vet our host families and maintain regular communication with both students and families to monitor their well-being. Students also have 24/7 access to their Liaison for any urgent needs.

  • Yes, students are usually allowed to return home during school breaks. However, we recommend checking with the school and host family to coordinate travel plans and ensure it doesn’t interfere with any important academic commitments.
